How to Get a TikTok Stream Key for OBS (Not Every Account Qualifies)

A TikTok stream key lets OBS send your live to TikTok. TikTok only shows that key to some accounts. If you cannot find it, your account is usually not eligible — there is no unofficial way to generate one, and TikTool cannot create it either.

Once OBS is sending to TikTok, add TikTool the same way you would with LIVE Studio: overlay as a browser source, game as a window capture.

Not every account gets a stream key

TikTok decides this on the account, not on OBS. The rules change by country and without notice. Meeting one number does not guarantee the key. Common checks:

  • You must be 18 or older to go LIVE and to receive gifts.
  • Your profile should be public, with no recent LIVE ban or Community Guidelines strike.
  • Follower minimums vary. In the US, TikTok has said about 1,000 followers for gaming creators who already posted or went LIVE with games, and about 10,000 for other creators. Other countries use different numbers.
  • TikTok also looks at how old the account is and whether you have gone LIVE recently. The exact numbers are not published.

If you already stream on another platform, TikTok has an official LIVE Studio application form. Approval is not guaranteed, and some accounts cannot apply for security reasons. That form is the only extra path TikTok offers. Buying a tool, using a third-party “key generator”, or sharing someone else’s key will not unlock it, and sharing a key lets someone else go LIVE on your account.

How to open LIVE Producer (there is often no Go LIVE button)

On tiktok.com the left menu often has no Go LIVE item. That is normal. Open LIVE Producer yourself in a desktop browser while you are signed in:

  1. Sign in at tiktok.com in a desktop browser.
  2. Go to https://livecenter.tiktok.com/producer — this is LIVE Producer. Bookmark it.
  3. Set a title and a category for this live.
  4. Start the session so TikTok creates the credentials. You are not on air until OBS (or another encoder) is actually sending.
  5. Copy Server URL and Stream key when they appear.

If that page does not load, asks you to apply, or never shows Server URL and Stream key, the account does not have stream-key access. Stop looking for a hidden button. Grow the account, keep it in good standing, or apply through TikTok’s official form if you already stream elsewhere.

On the phone

Some accounts also see the same two values in the TikTok app: tap +, swipe to LIVE, then look for Cast to PC, Connect to PC, or LIVE Studio. The label changes by region. If it is not there, the phone cannot give you a key either.

Paste the key into OBS

  1. In OBS open Settings → Stream.
  2. Set Service to Custom.
  3. Paste Server URL into Server and Stream key into Stream Key. Do not put a space at the end.
  4. In Settings → Video set Base and Output to 1080 × 1920 (portrait) and 30 fps. 60 fps is optional if your Mac or PC can hold it.
  5. In Settings → Output, TikTok recommends about 1.8 Mbps. A bitrate of 2000–3000 Kbps and a 2-second keyframe interval is a safe range. A much higher bitrate is usually transcoded down.
  6. Click Start Streaming in OBS. End the live in OBS and in TikTok when you finish.

The key changes

  • Server URL and Stream key are for one session. Start a new live in LIVE Producer before every stream; do not reuse yesterday’s key.
  • Never post the key in chat, Discord, or a screenshot. Anyone with it can go LIVE as you.
  • TikTool games and the overlay still work the same: enter your TikTok username in TikTool, then add the game window and the overlay browser source in OBS.

If you do not have a stream key, go live from TikTok LIVE Studio on Windows or Mac instead, and run TikTool next to it. Go LIVE on a Mac with TikTool
